Bikers for Babies Online Fundraising Tool Privacy Policy

The Online Fundraising Tool is intended to help participants maximize their fundraising efforts and the March of Dimes has made every effort to provide an application that is safe and secure.

Collection and Use of Personally Identifiable Information
If you are a participant or team captain, you will be asked to register by providing your first and last name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, the name of your fundraising group (if any), and a user name. We store this registration information to allow you to use the tool effectively -- for example to log on at different times to contact potential sponsors and to keep them informed of the event -- and to allow you and us to keep track of the sponsorships you receive.

If you sponsor someone and make a donation at this site, we will request you to provide your name, address, telephone number and email address.

The information you provide when you register or make a donation is maintained in the March of Dimes’ central database and certain information is also sent to the local chapter's database. We use this information to advise users of new online materials, activities and events and to offer users the opportunity to contribute to local and national programs and research initiatives.

The March of Dimes does not contact those people whose names and postal and email addresses may be stored on a participant’s page as potential sponsors unless they register as volunteers or donate to the March of Dimes.

The personal information you provide on this site will not be sold to or exchanged with any third party without your permission.

Credit card security
If you register as a biker in the Bikers for Babies event or if you sponsor a participant, you may be asked to provide credit card information. The March of Dimes has made every reasonable effort to protect the security of online credit card donations. Please go to this link to read how we process your payment information when you pay by credit card.

Cookies
The March of Dimes uses cookies -- small text files that a website can place in a visitor’s browser cache -- to allow users to stay logged onto our website, to permit us to recognize repeat visitors, to facilitate a visitor’s use of the site, and to track a visitor’s access to and use of the site.

We collect data that includes the internet protocol (IP) addresses, the type of browser and operating system of visitors to our sites, the date and time of their visit, and their donations and sign-up information.

The information we collect allows us to see what websites have linked visitors to our site and what pages of our site are used by and are of interest to those visitors so that we may better advertise our mission, programs and events and improve the functionality of the website and the experience for those who use our site.

March of Dimes General Privacy Policy
A description of the information the March of Dimes collects on our various sites and how we use that information can be found in the March of Dimes Privacy Policy and Your Privacy Rights.

You may contact us to review or correct your personal information and you may opt out of receiving communications from us.

The March of Dimes reserves the right to change its privacy policies at any time. We will notify you of any changes to this Privacy Policy by posting a notice prominently on the first page of this website (www.bikersforbabies.org).
